John Woodruff was born in 1954 in West Hartford CT.
In 1979, he received a B.S. in Biology from the University of Hartford and a minor in photography from the Hartford Art School.
After graduating, he worked as a studio photographer until opening his own architectural photography studio in 1985.
From 1980 until the present he has been creating lens based art.
