Jon Soucy is from Baltimore, Md., but has driven through and visited 49 of the 50 states* as well as several foreign countries. He has covered daily assignments for a variety of publications including The York (Pa.) Dispatch/ York Sunday News, Delmarva Newspapers, Landmark Community Newspapers as well as a numerous freelance clients.
He has also served in the U.S. Army as a photojournalist and has covered military operations in a variety of locations.
But, no matter the client or if it’s a personal project, the focus is on producing strong documentary and portrait work that engages the viewer with a layered and nuanced visual narrative. In the end, it comes down to exceptionally well-done visual storytelling.
He has played in several bands, has a knack for remembering the most obscure details about a vast array of subjects and is available for freelance assignments, long-term projects and can easily be talked into driving across the country in vehicles of questionable mechanical aptitude.
But also, he'd like to hear from you. Don't be shy, say hello.
(And he rarely refers to himself in the third person.)
*Hawaii. Hawaii is the last state needed to hit all 50.
