Jonathan Michael Castillo is a photographer, visual artist and educator based in Chicago and is the 2019-2020 recipient of the Diane Dammeyer Fellowship in Photographic Arts and Social Issues. Awards and honors also include the Stuart Abelson Graduate Research Fellowship and the Albert P. Weisman Award. His work focuses on people, place, cultural behavior & societal issues. Jonathan's work has been featured with The New Yorker, Wired, CBS: Los Angeles, and Brazil's G1 Globo. He has appeared on the radio to discuss his photography with the BBC's Dan Damon on “World Update” and local Los Angeles NPR radio programs. Jonathan is a regular guest lecturer at institutions with photography programs and was a featured speaker at ASMP LA's 10X10X10 event. His education includes a BFA from California State University Long Beach and MFA from Columbia College Chicago.
