About Josephine Mead

I am an Australian visual artist working through photography, sculpture and text. I completed the Fine Art Honours Degree at Monash University in 2017. In 2018 I was shortlisted for the John Fries Award; undertook the Arquetopia Foundation Residency (Mexico); the MacFarlane Fund Residency (Kyneton); participated in the Kings Writer’s Program; and was published by Art + Australia and un projects. My work has been exhibited at many venues in Australia & abroad, including c3 contemporary art space (2019), TAB Gallery (Istanbul) (2019), Counihan (2019), Bus Projects (2018) Blindside (2018), Craft Victoria (2018), Kings Artist-Run (2018, 2015, 2014), Seventh (2017), Screen Space (2016) (NZ), Blue Oyster Space (2015) (NZ) & Testing Grounds (2015). I have recently undertaken the Tasarim Bakkali residency program in Istanbul, Turkey & the Córtex Frontal residency program in Arraiolos, Portugal. In 2020 I have been selected to undertake the ZK/U residency program in Berlin, Germany.
