About Julia Fenske

Julia Fenske is a freelance photographer and lives in Halle an der Saale. Born in Wilhelmshaven in 1985, she completed her studies in photography and design at the "Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie und Gestaltung" in Berlin in 2021. Her final thesis was supervised by the artist and photographer Ludwig Rauch.

In addition to her freelance work and teaching photography, she works as a photographer for commissioned portrait and documentary work.

The themes of her freelance work are strongly influenced by her personal search for humanity, individuality and sensitivity. Julia Fenske is less interested in spectacle than in the wonders of everyday life. She usually finds her subjects not in the distance, but close by. She wants to tell stories about the people around us and make the unseen and overlooked visible through her photography. Honest places and people without a façade are what the photographer and artist is looking for.
