Having graduated from The University of Brighton , and recently completed a masters degree at UAL, Julian has 20 years experience at the coalface of the photographic industry.
In a practice encompassing both artistic and commercial concerns, Julian explores a visual language that rests awkwardly between fact and fiction: a duality that sets photography’s expectation of veracity against the improbability of the artist’s imagination.
Photography is employed not to reinforce, but to question, challenge and subvert. Thus we are faced with the implausible, the contradictory and the absurd.
As part of his professional practice, Julian teaches and lectures in photography.
