Julian Leshay is a young photojournalist based out of New Jersey. He is a member of the National Press Photographers Association and is currently enrolled in the New York Institute of Photography studying Photojournalism. He is a guest contributor for the online publication “WeekenderNJ” and an online journal starting in 2021 called the “Disrupted Quarterly”.
His work has been featured in multiple online publications locally and internationally. He partnered with TAPinto for coverage of the “Capitol Hill Siege” and “Biden’s Inauguration Preparation”. He has extensively covered the Black Lives Matter Movement in New Jersey and New York and has documented the “ICE Protests” outside the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, New Jersey. Using his photography, Julian aims to create thought-provoking dialogue and questions about today’s societal issues.
When Julian is not out covering protests and unrest in the North East, he is most likely found swinging from a hammock in a tree or broken down on the side of the road in his self-renovated camper van “Penelope”.
