About Karin von Oldershausen

Karin von Oldershausen is a Hamburg based autodidact photographer, born in Germany and raised in Lugano, Switzerland. After concluding her language studies in Geneva and London she moves with her family to Hamburg and works as a free lance interpreter around Europe but dedicates most of her free time to Art. She becomes a pupil of Hamburg based artist Petra Dannehl and video artist Thorsten Tenberken.
She regularly takes courses at Summer Academies such as Gerlesborg Art Academy in Sweden..
For many years she is also engaged in charitable work for disadvantaged children in St. Pauli, Hamburg, helping to encourage and foster arts and cultural projects. She writes some children’s books and works for a literary agency.
In 2017 comes a turning point in her work, because she discovers the world of Photography.
Starting from the participation at the Portfolio Match at the Triennial of Photography in Hamburg 2017 she has been working relentlessly with combining photography, watercolor and drawing.
