My name is Karthik Subramaniam, and I am a photographer in San Francisco. I work as a software engineer full-time and photograph in my free time.
I mainly photograph wildlife and landscapes. For years, I was photographing landscapes, cityscapes and travels, but in 2020, I started photographing wildlife and quickly fell in love with it.
I grew up watching nature documentaries. I’m so excited and passionate about being able to observe and photograph wildlife now.
My wildlife images have won me some awards, notably the grand prize in National Geographic’s Pictures of the Year 2022, Fstoppers Photographer of the Year 2022, first place in wildlife category in 500px and Neil Dankoff Photography Competition 2022, third place in Outdoor Photographer Wildlife 2022, and runner-up in PetaPixel’s Wild Personalities 2022.
