My name is Klaus Mayer and I was born and raised in Germany. My family and I moved to United States in 2008. The first three years, we lived in Atlanta, Georgia before moving to Keller, Texas in 2011.
My speciality is shooting family portraits, land- and cityscapes, wildlife and nature.
I was 4 years old when I took my first picture. I was so proud of it and never forgot this moment. It was a picture of my parents in the beautiful mountains. My family was surprised how I handled the camera and that the picture was so perfect, without any cropped heads or feet. Since that day, I never stopped doing what I love, capturing special moments that brings great memories back.
My very first own SLR was in the early 80s a Canon AE-1 Program. The lenses and accessories I shared with my father. After two years I traded the body to a Canon A-1. In 1990 Canon launched the EOS-1 and I made the switch from manual to auto focus cameras. I still own both bodies and they are still working.
In 2007 I got my first DSLR, a Canon EOS 40D. This body was replaced in 2010 by a Canon EOS 7D, which I still use.
Over the years I took several photography classes to improve my abilities and to sharpen my photo graphics mind. As a lot of photographers I have often a vision in my mind that I want to capture or create.
Despite of all classes and courses I’ve done, my best teacher was my father. He showed me the beauty and fun of photography. All the knowledge that I have, is because of his passion and patience with me to show me how everything works.
Photography was always my passion. I love to capture special moments or events.
