The Foundation for the Visual Arts is a non-governmental organisation, established in 2001 in Krakow to promote and popularise the visual arts in Poland. Our speciality is photography, and our mission to seek new definitions for it in the context of contemporary art, history and sociology. The Foundation is the organiser of the international Photomonth in Krakow festival. Over the period 2007-2011, it ran the ZPAF i S-ka Gallery. It also publishes, focusing on publications on the theory and history of photography, and the popularisation of niche and collector publications. The FVA cooperates with cultural institutions in Poland and abroad, is a member of the international co-operation networks, and takes part in many photographic events around the world.
Fascinating interview with one of the leading young curators of international photography.
