Krista Svalbonas ( b.1977, USA ) is a mixed-media artist. She holds a BFA Photography (Syracuse University) and an MFA Interdisciplinary (SUNY New Paltz).
Svalbonas recently completed a site specific permanent installation at the Vilnius Gediminas Technical University in Lithuania. She has exhibited at the Spartanburg Art Museum in South Carolina; Month of Photography at Redline and Space Gallery in Colorado; Kenise Barnes Fine Art, Matteawan Gallery, Opus Projects, Klompching gallery, ISE Cultural Foundation in New York; and Miller Yezerski gallery in Massachusetts. Her work is in the permanent collection of the Cesis Art Museum in Latvia. Awards and accolades include: Rhonda Wilson Award (2017), Puffin Foundation Grant (2016), Bemis Fellowship (2015) and a Cooper Union residency (2012).
Krista Svalbonas is an assistant professor of photography at St. Joseph’s University. She lives and works in Philadelphia.
