Hello! I'm an award-winning author, fine art photographer and creative adventurer. A Denmark native, I've traveled the world, living and working in Europe, Asia and America—a path that has given me a profound understanding of change and the influence of culture on female identity. Themes of the female symbolism and archetypes inspire my artistic exploration. A cosmic nomad, I split my time between Europe and San Francisco.
I'm the founder of Lolo’s Boudoir, San Francisco’s first studio for women’s self-expression and created the Sacred eJourney program for women. My photography and writing have been featured internationally in Instyle, Cosmopolitan, SF Chronicle, Huffington Post, Examiner, East Bay Express, 7×7, Daily Candy and many Danish and Nepalese magazines, newspapers and blogs.
My photography has been exhibited in shows at venues in San Francisco and beyond: “Belle Du Jour” by Lost Art at the Castro Theatre, “SF Faces 2.0” at City Hall and Hotel Des Arts by SOMA ARTS, "Femmeology" at Backstage Gallery, "Dream Girls" at The Mina Dredsen Gallery, and in Vevey, Switzerland, a town square exhibit by Peter Scholl.
My memoir, Seeing Red, tells the story of my spiritual quest sparked at the sacred Mt. Kailas in the Himalayas, and the subsequent decade in America––as wife, woman and creative spirit––trying to make sense of my own relationship to the sacred, to personal power and the sacrifices required to live an honest life attuned to one’s soul and core values. It has won the Tanenbaum Literary Award, Honorary Mention at the San Francisco Book Festival, and the Bronze Medal in the 2013 Readers’ Favorite Book Awards.
Unveiled is my second book in the works. Based upon the past decade of photographing women, this project explores women's self-perception and -expression. Candid reflections interspersed by the images shares what the photographs alone cannot—that undressing is an act of shedding stories of doubt and cultural conditioning to stand as the sovereign woman, proud in spirit and body.
This book is the beginning of a global project of "unveiling" the sovereign feminine in different cultures.
I'm currently looking for the right publisher and partners for my book and project. Leads and ideas welcome.
