Anthropologist (2006) and Photography Specialist (2016). My photographic work has focused on the relationship between the recent past, political violence and territory in the context of the Colombian armed conflict in rural settings. As a visual anthropologist, I have used images both in the process of academic research and as a tool for empowerment in community projects. I have also managed and developed proposals that combine art, communication and memory. I am one of the researchers of the audiovisual installation “Recorridos por la memoria” (Travels through memory), a project that won the “Beca para el Fomento de la Antropología Visual” (Fellowship for the development of visual anthropology) given by the Colombian Institute of Anthropology and History in 2010. I am also the co-director of “Los ríos andan murmurando” (The rivers are whispering), a project that won the Estímulo de Investigación para Largometraje Documental (Encouragement for documentary feature length) given by the Colombian Ministry of Culture.
