Bio: An Aucklander for 39 years Maria moved to Wellington in 2003 in search of new challenges. However a simple falling accident the following year ended her 18 year career as a successful award winning Still Life Advertising Photographer. The past 14 years has been a period of 8 major surgeries and recovery. A change of direction was needed in that time and in 2013 she completed and was awarded a Master of Fine Arts Degree with Distinction at Massey University, Wellington, NZ. She manages residual pain everyday and its presence defines the parameters of her art practice located in Wellington and Whanganui.
