By profession a creator of fragrances, Marina Sersale began taking photographs in December 2012 when she purchased her first iPhone and started posting on Instagram.
Based in Rome, Italy, her photography masters the interaction between light and shadow, focusing on how it creates situations that can be isolated from everyday life as if they constituted a separate reality.
"I'm not interested in the obvious beauty of places or people, but in what is not immediately visible, or in what becomes visible when you extrapolate one part of a scene and show the interaction between various elements within it to create something new.
For me, reality is not necessarily what you see but also what you choose to look at" - Marina Sersale
Her work was shown for the first time in November 2015 at the Hikari Creative "Chance Encounters" collective exhibition at N.6 Gallery in Tehran, Iran.
In March 2016 she had her first solo exhibition at ILEX Gallery in Rome, Italy.
