I grew up in a small town outside of Vancouver, Canada. I live with my husband, son, daughter, French bulldog, and our tiger cat in Edmonton, Canada. As a kid, I rode my bike around my cul-de-sac wearing a hand-me-down wedding veil. I wish my parents had made a photo of me and my veil. In 2014 I earned a PhD in Public Health from the University of Alberta, Canada. I loved hanging out with my study participants and learning their stories. I have since brought my love for using a documentary approach to research and photography together. I now make photos like the wedding veil photo with my family.
