Megan Shaughnessy was born in Morristown, NJ in 1980. She has exhibited in both the US and UK and was an invited guest lecture from 2006-2009 at Norwich University of the Arts in the UK where she taught graduate students on collaborative photographic practice. In addition, she was part of an artistic collaboration with fellow artist, Emma Shipton-Smith. During their collaboration, they curated two major exhibitions: Pellicola commissioned by the Norwich Arts Centre in the UK and 25: Women’s Photography and New Media held in conjunction with International Women’s Day in 2006. Shaughnessy holds a BFA in Photography from the School of Visual Arts in New York City and a MA (equivalent to an MFA) in Photographic Studies from Norwich University of the Arts. Shaughnessy is currently on the Curatorial & Community Engagement Committee at the Ely Center of Contemporary Art (ECOCA) in New Haven, CT. She lives with her family in Madison, CT.
