About Mehdi El Taghdouini

I have been a street kid at heart since as far as I can remember. I don’t know why it took me so long to figure out that street photography could be a practice worth pursuing. It ticks most of my boxes.

I graduated with a degree in e-business in June 2018. I wasn’t quite okay with the idea of getting a job and having nothing to look forward to beyond that, so I decided to buy my first camera and start a new adventure.

Little did I know at the time that that decision would completely change my life. I had finally found a medium with which I could express my fascination with Brussels, people, and the way they go about their life. I ended up taking no job and teaching myself photography full-time.

Brussels has plenty to offer to those who like to find beauty in the mundane. I am at my best when I react spontaneously to what I see, so I go out with no precise idea in mind, a camera in my hand, and bags of optimism. My honesty and drive will hopefully be recognizable in the pictures that I make.

My work has been featured on VICE, BX1 and more.
