Mehrdad Naraghi was born in Tehran, Iran, in 1978. Although an engineering graduate from Sharif University of Technology, in 2001, Naraghi left the science of engineering to pursue the art of photography. He has exhibited internationally, including Unseen Photo Fair 2015-16 (Ag Galerie, Amsterdam) and Grand Prix de la Decouverte 2013 (Le Salon de la Photo, Paris). His “Japanese Gardens” series received the 2014 PHOTOQUAI Residencies Award by Musée du Quai Branly (Paris). His works are in the Bibliotheque National de France collections. In 2017, Naraghi moved to NYC to pursue his work, which now also embraces video and painting.
