Michael Young is a lens-based artist whose work deals with masculinity, personal identity and memory. He was named a Top 50 artist in Photolucida’s Critical Mass 2021, a winner of Feature Shoot’s 2021 Emerging Photography Award, a first place winner for the New York Center for Photographic Arts’ The Human Body prize, a finalist for the Texas Photographic Society National Photography Award 2022, a recipient of an honorable mention at the Center for Photographic Art’s 2021 Exhibition, and a finalist for Klompching Gallery’s 2021 FRESH competition.
Group shows include Center Forward 2022 at Center for Fine Art Photography in Colorado, Context 2022 at Filter Photo in Chicago, New Photography III at Academy Art Museum, International Juried Exhibition at Center for Photographic Art, and Conversations with the Archive at SE Center for Photography.
