Graduated in journalism at the Universidade de Brasília (Brazil), Michel Gomes has worked as photojournalist for many media vehicles, such as Lusa Agency, Isto É Gente Magazine, Correio Braziliense Newspaper.
He lived in Spain from 2002 to 2009, where he postgraduated in photojournalism at the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona. He was awarded with the first prize in the national photo contest Ton Sirera of the Institut Ilerdencs and was in the finals of the La Vanguardia newspaper photo contest.
In Barcelona, he made three individual exhibitions: The Joy of Brazil, The Dark Collection and Inside. The project Inside was later published in the Brazilian magazine +SOMA.
It was also in the Catalan capital where he started working in the film industry, later moving to Sao Paulo. From then on, Michel has built a solid career as director of photography in commercials, documentaries and feature films.
