Mike Andrew Yood (b. 1961) is a self-taught photographer. In 2010, he was selected to attend a Magnum Photo workshop in Toronto, where he was fortunate to come under the tutelage of Alec Soth. While still in college, Mike learned the use of pencil, watercolors, pastels, charcoal, and ink and the techniques of composition from Harvey Breverman, Professor Emeritus at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Both are a continuing influence on his photography.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Arts from Allegheny College. During his undergraduate studies, after he was diagnosed with dyslexia, he completed a unique program for students with dyslexia at American International College in Springfield, MA. Mike is a graduate of Syracuse University College of Law.
Since 2018, Mike has devoted himself full-time to his art. His work has been juried and exhibited nationally and internationally in Buffalo, the Hudson Valley of New York State, and in Toronto. In 2015, he presented his first solo exhi
