About MUTZIG JEAN FRANCOIS

Its mission begins in Lille where he was born in 1962. He was 14 when his uncle Didier introduced him to photo processing. The taste of this work will never leave him, even when he moved to digital photography. In 1980, he learnt his trade at the School of Photography in Lille for three years, concentrating on the black and white photo process.
In 1984, he moved to Manosque in the Alpes de Haute-Provence. Since 1990, Jean-François Mutzig has been working as a photojournalist and he exhibits his images.
In 1993, he joined the agency Biosphoto, specialized in nature and the environment, for the publication of his photographs.
Since then, Jean-François Mutzig has turned his attention to the changes in our world and the effects they have on our culture or environment. His perspective on the world follows the tradition of humanist photography. His latest work "Of elephants and men" was displayed at the 22nd ‘Visa pour l'Image’ festival in Perpignan in 2010 and at the 14th international fest
