Nicolas Wilson is a Melbourne based moving image creator and photographer. His photographic journey started with the refurbishment of a broken 35mm film camera enabling an exploration of abstract image capture traversing urban street and landscape genres.
In tandem to light based photographic exploration, Wilson built an array of video art works to include suburban genre works, visual culture mashups and music visualisation; informed by research in contemporary critical theory and applied media practice.
This culminated in experience as an electronic music producer and performance DVJ; gaining experiences in live compositing, sculptural audio/visual projection and new media research.
Currently working as a cinematographer and editor, Wilson’s current photographic works continue an exploration of visual process pertaining to landscape and immersive configuration.
