A burgeoning photographer hailing from Singapore, drawing inspiration from the masterful storytelling of Sebastião Salgado and the captivating work of Vivian Maier. While rooted in the tradition of black and white photography, my journey took a transformative turn during a darkroom process series, sparking a profound passion for the art form.
Through my lens, South Africa became both my canvas and muse during a three-month volunteering expedition. Employing a documentary-style approach, I captured the diverse and vibrant tapestry of the nation in the project 'Harmony in Hues: South African Portrait Series.' New to portrait photography, I weaved a narrative that celebrates the beauty of diversity and shared humanity, influenced by the powerful storytelling techniques learned from Salgado and the candid charm of Vivian Maier.
