I've been a freelance commercial photographer for over 25 years and the income I derive from that allows me to pursue my personal photography, which is the reason I wanted to be a photographer in the first place.
My influences are from the film era with a deep understanding of the history of the medium combined with the digital domain allows me to more easily switch between the commercial and the personal. Both disciplines inform the each other, i.e, the rigor of commercial work with its required mastery of technique and lighting and the intuitive nature of the personal.
