Raised in a family of artists, I first observed the craft of photography as a child. I received a BFA from the University of Colorado/Boulder and an additional photography certificate from The Art Academy in San Francisco. Returning from a Peace Corps stint in Gabon, I resettled in NYC to take classes at the ICP and earn an MA in Art Ed. from Columbia University. I have been an art instructor in NYC and in Tarrytown and Port Washington, NY for 26 years, and have spent numerous summers at the Maine Media Workshops in Rockport. There I worked with a variety of world renown photographers: I credit Karin Rosenthal, Elizabeth Opalenik and Connie Imboden as major influences.
My work has been exhibited at the Arts and Architecture Gallery in Toronto, Canada, the Ceres Gallery in NYC, the Heckshire Museum in Huntington, NY, the Graphic Eye Gallery in Port Washington, NY, among others. I am also represented in private collections throughout the United states and Canada
