About Paul Teixeira

Portuguese/Spanish by birth, Paul Teixeira (1965) currently works and lives near Amsterdam, the capital of The Netherlands.

Teixeira started in the mid 1980’s as a freelance photojournalist in The Netherlands, working for Dutch Newspapers and magazines, covering a variety of subjects: from squatter riots and other violent outbursts to documentary series on Pope John Paul II and senior citizens.

He went on to study journalism (both written and photojournalism) at the School voor de Journalistiek in Utrecht. After completing this study, Teixeira went on to work as reporter, editor-in-chief and publisher at various publishing companies in The Netherlands, Belgium and Spain. He’s currently co-owner of Sandbox Publishers a Dutch publishing company specialised in business magazines.

Teixeira does reserve at least one day a week for his old profession and passion: photojournalism, working mainly for national and international magazines and acting as one of the correspondents for a major press agency.
