About Paula Cinquetti

Born in 1978 in São Paulo, Brazil, Paula has been working with photography since 1999. From the beginning of her career, she has invested all her resources following documentary themes. Thus, she covered the inauguration of the first indigenous latin american president, Evo Morales, in Bolivia (2006) and the elections of the first african-american president in the USA, Barack Obama (2008). Years later, she coordinated the coverage of the election and inauguration of the first woman president of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff (2010-2011), among other political agendas for the news agency of the Federal Senate. She has published also portraits and reports in magazines, websites, album covers by independent artists and alternative collective exhibitions.Together with documentary photographers, she created the project "Offestival: urban intervention with photography” (2009-2012), interacting in host cities of photography festivals.
As photography coordinator at the Federal Senate of Brazil (2009-2014), she modernized the photography workflow, the access to the collection and the production of journalistic images, and produced the project “100 photos of the year – the day by day in the Federal Senate”, in photobook format and postcards to visitors at the National Congress. Currently, she conducts iconographic research for documentary film, explores new landscapes for reports, authorial essays and cultural projects in the hinterland of Maranhão (northeast BR) and indigenous communities.
