This is an ongoing project that wishes to build upon the story of Betania, a 35 years old lesbian woman.
The project provide a deeper look into Betania’s daily life and explore a lesbian language of stance, dress, gesture, courage and autonomy. Through her story, the reportage aims to show the lesbian intimacy, a unique way of looking, loving, and living.
These photos want to paint an emotional story of love, possession and sexual energy, drawing the attention on the aesthetic expression of intimacy.
This visual intimacy communicates what it feels like to be in love like there is no world outside, only the here and now.
Betania is from Argentina, which in July 2010 became the first country in Latin America to legalize same-sex marriage in spite of vigorous opposition from the Catholic Church and evangelical Protestant churches.
