Pivotal Places - Wildlife
Project info

I live in a known hotspot of change. In the last five years we have been evacuated because of flood, undergone severe water restrictions because of drought, seen bat populations decimated by extreme heat and witnessed major bush-fires ravaging half of our home at North Stradbroke island. These extreme events fed my desire to travel to see the types of environmental and social changes experienced at other pivotal places in quite different climates and cultures. Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Antarctica, Greenland and the Galapagos have beautiful wildlife which are under threat from climate changes, poachers, intense tourism and competing interests with human communities. This series is based on a large ongoing project showing places, wildlife and communities under threat.
