These images are selections from an on going series that began about 3 years ago. Born of boredom and frustration with the daily commute, I began making photographs with the only camera I always have available. I wanted to be able to make the pictures I saw while passing by. As a professional photographer I was reluctant to enter the digital world and never thought I would be using a phone to make photographs. My phone became an agile tool, allowing me to make images that I could not with a larger, more obvious camera. I captured passing glimpses and fleeting moments, often relying on anticipation and a feeling that a photograph may be nearby.
The majority of these images were made on or near the crooss town corridor of Girard Avenue in Philadelphia.
