The photographs I use in Passports are taken from real migrants who flee their countries because of a great danger to their lives. It is possible that most of them are accepted as refugees for an indefinite time, others only temporarily and the most unfortunate will be deported to their countries of origin. They often tell me their stories, many of them totally heartbreaking.
I use different techniques to disorient their facial recognition in these photos, especially to children who also live these tragedies.
Passport belongs to the series Puzzles where I intend to show the feelings of these people, their anguish and the psychological conflict, resulting from the insecurity regarding a future of their lives and that of their loved ones. Each image contains several stories, they mix and grow in different directions.
