It was almost impossible for me to gain my own identity and feel secure with who I am. I realized that's sort of a norm here. They always judge you by your appearances, your job, how much money you make but no one cares who you really are. Here, you are forced to respect older people whatever the situation is. They think they are better than you just because they are older than you. So you are angry and suppressed, and you exploit your age to the people who are younger than you. That's how it works. Of course, there are criteria that they use to looked down on you like your gender, your ethnicity and etc. It seems like a very long way to go to achieve Equality. Seriously, how can you achieve equality when you have hierarchy even among people in the same race and gender? A lot of people feel so lonely, neglected, isolated in the society and there are reasons for that. My work is to recognize them.
