My work surrounding architecture focuses on the composition and framing of the subject as I use them to present the aesthetics of the design. Within my more abstract architectural photography, I focus on a particular area of a building that I think has an interesting quality such as the façade seen on my image of the 'Harpa Concert Hall'. I find that abstract images of building design help emphasise the quality of the architects work as well as offer a different perspective and way of seeing architecture.
I try to convey the effect that buildings and their design can have on the surrounding environment and those that inhabit them. Particularly in 'Coast Guard Tower' I was conscious of framing the subject in the centre to emphasise the isolation of the building within the emptiness of the surrounding landscape.
