Submission

For some time now I have been photographing staged dioramas with minimalist models. The understanding of photography as an image of reality takes a back seat. Everything is created. By staging the model worlds, I explore our inner and internalized images. I want to make visible how strongly our thinking and our self-image are shaped by photographic images, whose iconography and narrative structure we already learn in our childhood. In the work group showroom, from which the five present pictures are taken, I deal with the imagery of the myths of manhood and masculinity. In the tension between self-image and image of the world, between the private and the political, the question of the position of the man in the world is asked. This creates emotionally credible images that shed light on the iconography of being a man between bitter seriousness and naively ironic, playful lightness.
