I was always intrigued by leaves. When observed closely each and every leaf would compel me to imagine a story around it.
The outcome of that is this series ‘Portrait of a leaf’.
During the initial days I would randomly collect interestingly looking leaves and safeguard it in my bag. Without knowing what to do with with it. This continued for many months until I got an idea as to how would a leaf react to studio lights.
It surprised me on the first day of shoot. Every leaf revealed its grace when lit.
Each demanded a particular type of lighting. Similar to human faces.
Portraiture and Still life have been my area of interest in photography. And I feel this is the culmination of both.
