Diavolezza means "she-devil" in Romantsch, a local Swiss language and in Italian and refers to mountains "beautiful" demons that legend says live up there in the Engadin in Switzerland. It is said that they tempt locals by their beauty to climb up to never be seen again. This legend reminds me of the antique legend by Homer where Sirens tempt Odysseus by their beautiful singing. Homers book of Odyssey is one of the oldest book of literature in western culture. For me personally it also is a symbol for the admiration of their beauty and at the same time shows the respect for the dangers of these mountains and the forces of nature.
