While the lay public doesn't generally tend to fully appreciate and purchase black & white landscapes, leaving the aesthetic appreciation to mostly other artists and academics, to me they are the very heart of photography. I owe my aspirations and photographic efforts to Ansel Adams, and to the tradition of black and white photography. While I would never presume to approach the genius of the Master, I do hope my work can pay homage in a small way to the tradition and aesthetic love of black and white photography.
