Beauty Will Save The World 2018
In this project I wanted to open the dialog with the new generation by showing published war photographs and connecting the war in Syria with our daily life in Europe. I wanted to link these two worlds and make people “travel” to the war zones and capture how does it make them feel?
I think we are as human beings still accept the idea of war and therefore a war is still our present not the past. We have created games, movies, toys that celebrate war and don’t show how ugly it is. That no one dies beautifully, only Life can be beautiful. I have chosen the flowers as a symbol of life, peace and love but also a sorrow. I took portraits in Arles with local people in the small French city and I used the handmade collage technique to demonstrate the fragility of one individual life and that each life matters.
