Hadzabe: The Last Hunter Gatherers in Tanzania
Project info

Last February I was part of a four person team for the Jimmy Nelson Foundation profiling the Hadzabe tribe, the last hunter gatherers in Tanzania. They are a proud people who want to preserve their way of life in the bush and don't wish to become assimilated into "modern" society. Our goal was to support their aspirations by showing their culture and life style in a positive but realistic manner. We spent four days with them from early morning until after dark, building houses, hunting, collecting water, digging tubers and eating berries. It was a profound experience for all of us. We produced a Foundation website page: http://JimmyNelsonFoundation.com/projects/the-hadzabe, and I also produced my own with stills and video: http://www.hadzabe.org.
