The following project is an exploration into the simulated effects water MIGHT produce on a photograph. (I did not actually use water, this is purely imaginary). Selecting my photographs I proceeded to look first at the colors one might imagine would spread if water drops, some being large and others smaller created a reflection on the surface of the photograph or simply looking like water was bending and blurring the outlines within. I then moved the composition around noting my choice to maintain an image that was not completely drenched and unrecognizable.
Water is a lifeline for us in so many aspects of our lives beginning with our planet’s biological needs for life. Loren Eiseley so eloquently said, IF THERE IS MAGIC ON THIS PLANET, IT IS CONTAINED IN WATER. Within photography waterscapes are beautiful to photograph, reflections within water, the different forms of water and their effects on our photography whether it be in the form of rain, fog, mist, snow, etc. and how these forms interact with objects making our photographic experiences amazing.
I will be adding to this project as I further explore.
