Olympia

Initiated in 2013, Olympia is an ongoing project that portrays cities that have hosted Olympic Games. On the eve of Brazil hosting the next Olympic Games in 2016, Romy Pocztaruk seeks to investigate the transformations urban and social structures undergo in host-cities, tracking the event’s impact, qualified by the artist as “apocalyptical” based on its abandoned remnants – most of the time, facilities in ruins.
