Baseball Fans in Japan

For almost two years now I've been working on a self-funded passion project endeavoring to capture portraits to sports fans of different sports from across the globe. As a passionate fan of my hometown Oakland Raiders since I was a little kid, I noticed the spirit of the fans was the one constant over the years as my beloved team went from being dominant in the 70's to mostly miserable during my adult years. But the fan's enthusiasm never fluttered, and that has been part of my inspiration for my photos of fans, titled: "Fanatic Project." The other inspiration has been to discover how fan enthusiasm for different sports manifests itself across the world, how different cultures cheer for their beloved sports teams and stars. I was interested in discovering our differences and similarities in this. I hope you enjoy my submissions from a Hanshin Tigers game I went to in April of 2019 as I was working on my project across 4 different countries in Asia recently.
