Memories and Moments, a Self-Portrait
The current series of images with the inclusion of a clear glass head are a representation of my journey through life. A self portrait as recalled and perceived through my eyes and sensibilities. Memories and moments of self reflection that encompass the full range of my emotions and perceptions. Recollections and interpretations of the everyday and the inherent humanness that the images expose. A personal vision that questions whether I as an artist see situations as they are or if the situations are seen as I am.
The images became both a direct and at times an indirect representation of myself. A literal representation at times and other times a dive into an inner self. An interior self coming to grips with both my struggles and joys.
The reflection upon these memories and moments were the catalyst of self discovery. Self discovery that when visualized invoked moments of pause and appreciation prior to creation. An appreciation for having that special something that stirred my emotions and called to be imagined or remembered. Images that called to be visualized, to be realized, and to be created through the medium of photography.
