Private Moments, Public Spaces

This is a series of candid photographs taken in Paris, and processed using muted colors, for a feeling of black and white with the the tenderness that color can lend. I'd begun processing the photos in B&W, but as the series progressed, the poignancy of the interaction of subjects, either with another person or with themselves, seemed enhanced by color. The "real" color was too strong and distracted from the emotion, but by muting I found the tones that enhanced the interaction.
