They were all parts,
Clamoring for something.
Private ones,
Ones that had been discarded.
Pieces that came from different places,
At the time they were captured I was practicing.
They didn’t care about that though,
They were meant for something bigger.
I just didn’t know what that was.
The following series contains these photographic parts. The series represents people, the people we are because of the places we have been and the influences those places have had on us. We are parts and pieces of many things, sometimes waving our allegiances to others and sometimes in an independent stance we remain anonymous.
Each photographic work in the series contains visual areas of positive and negative space. The negative space may be quite empty, yet have great positive vibes. Thoughts of places and people who instill these strong vibes in us might reverberate. Likewise, the visually filled positive space may represent the confluence of places and technology that can stifle our need for balance.
We are pieces of places and others all put together and blended to form our own unique entities.
