Memory of Trees
In the words of Christopher Alexander, "Trees have a very deep and crucial meaning to human beings. The significance of old trees is archetypical; in our dreams they often stand for the wholeness of personality. The trees people love create special places; places to be in and places to pass through. Trees have the potential to create various kinds of social places"
I like to think everyone has a memory of a time and place that centres around trees. Just like how our memories are created in the brain these images are layered one at a time to form a rendition akin to our memories. And just as with people, most of what makes when who they are occurs below the surface just as it does with trees. This then is a portrait of myself and the people around me a journey through the trees.
