Nothing Is Permanent So Everything Is Precious is a body of work about impermanence and a longing to be fully present. The basic nature of the photographic process is a definition of this philosophy. If conventional wisdom holds true “the moment is fleeting” so it is that one must be present to experience it. I find the ever changing nature of a seascape to be the perfect environment to understand impermanence. The kinetic physicality of it continues to deepen my understanding of this process. Seascapes are endlessly transforming, never permanent but so deeply precious.
